Kings, Titans open weekend set

The Dauphin Kings have 12 wins in their last 17 games. The team is coming off a solid performance in a 4-3 win against the Centennial Cup-hosting Portage Terriers on Tuesday night.

Now on Friday night, they kick off a weekend home-and-home with the Neepawa Titans. Friday’s game is the fifth meeting of the season between the two clubs and they will meet one final time on Saturday.

So far, Dauphin has won two of their four meetings with Neepawa while they lost in overtime in another and lost 4-1 in one other meeting. The Titans have added a big-time player to their roster as Briley Wood was sent down by the Winnipeg ICE of the Western Hockey League.

Wood has been tearing it up with four goals and 14 points in just seven games played. The Dauphin Kings; meanwhile, have added some Western Hockey League talent to their roster as Jakob Brook is back. He has 187 games of WHL experience under his belt.

Dauphin enters Friday’s contest just two points back of first place in the MGEU West Division and they also have a game in hand on OCN. Neepawa; meanwhile, is at the bottom of the division, but they’re only five points back of the fourth and final playoff spot.

Dauphin has also added Aaron Neal to their roster, he came from the Powell River Kings in the British Columbia Hockey League. Both Brook and Neal are expected to make their debuts on Friday night.
