TONIGHT'S MATCHUP
KINGS (1-1-0-0)
After a solid week of practice the Dauphin Kings are set to return to the ice tonight for back-to-back tilts against the Neepawa Titans. A team they faced twice in the pre season, beating them once and losing to them in a shootout.
It's a busy weekend for the Kings and will be followed by an early lull in their schedule. After Saturday's affair the team won't see action again for 10 days and won't be back at Credit Union Place for three weeks when they host Ladies Night, presented by Dr.Brenna & Three Graces Medi Spa, on October 18th.
Special Teams are still tough to read at this point of the season for most teams and that's the case for the Kings after two outings. Through five man advantage opportunities the Kings have yet to score. On the Penalty Kill side Dauphin is at 77.8% so far this season.
Ethan Stewart & Nicolas Zaharias lead the Kings in points through two games. Stewart has two goals and an assist while Zaharias has a goal and two assists.
TITANS (1-2-0-0)
This will be game four of the regular season for the Neepawa Titans. They're coming off a 5-2 home ice loss to the Waywayseecappo Wolverines on Wednesday. It was a game that saw the Wolverines score four unanswered goals after the Titans had gained a 2-1 lead in the opening 20 minutes.
The Titans schedule will get a bit more road heavy after tonight's game. They'll play five of their next seven away from Neepawa including tomorrow's tilt in Dauphin.
Neepawa, much like Dauphin, has Special Teams numbers that are tough to go off of at this point of the season. Their Power Play is at 16.7% while their Penalty Kill sits at 69.2%.
Jack Clark and Logan Paquette both lead the Titans in points coming into this evening's affair. They both have four points with two goals and two assists.
