Kings Take Out Neepawa 8-3

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings continued their strong scoring pace Sunday night at Credit Union Place, beating the Neepawa Natives 8-3.

Dauphin opened the game by scoring one goal in the first period. It came off the stick of Kadin Ilott, who was playing in his first exhibition game like a number of his teammates.

In the second period the Kings scored three times. Owen Wareham was treated to a great pass from Koby Morrisseau to make it 2-0. Then Dauphin got tallies from Grady Hobbs (2).

In the third period the Kings scored early and often. Notching three in the first two minutes of the frame. They came from Morrisseau, Lamotte & Hobbs capped off his hatrick (For the fans).

Both teams finished 0 for 1 on the power play Sunday evening.

The Kings dominated the shot clock, out shooting Neepawa 41-23. Matthias Smith didn't allow a goal on nine shots while Ian Lee turned away 11 shots on 14 attempts.

Dauphin closes out their exhibition campaign on Wednesday night when they visit the Portage Terriers. Game time is slated 7:30pm.

The Tim Hortons Kings Home Opener happens on Friday October 9th when Dauphin entertains the Waywayseecappo Wolverines at Credit Union Place!
