Kings Take Out Monarchs, Win Third Straight

DAUPHIN, MB - For the second straight game the Dauphin Kings scored two goals in each period en route to another 6-1 victory inside Credit Union Place Friday night, this time beating the Winnipeg Monarchs.

The first 20 minutes saw Dauphin jump out to that 2-0 lead. It took two minutes to get the game's first goal. It was Madden Murray notching his 9th of the campaign off a nice passing play. Then Matthew O'Sullivan would score the eventual game winner, his 21st and on the man advantage.

In the second the Kings made it 3-0 when Kurtis Kinoshita scored his first as a King off a nice breakaway. Winnipeg would make it 3-1 before O'Sullivan tallied his second of the night to make it 4-1 Dauphin after 40.

The third had the Kings add two more. First Quinten Fisk (6) and then Rylan Gage (10) to close things out.

Dauphin's Special Teams were very good on Friday. The Kings were 3 for 4 on the Power Play and 5 for 5 on the Penalty Kill.

Shots were also in favour of Dauphin. They out shot the Monarchs 39-25 and Hunter Bauer picked up the win in goal.

Dauphin is back in action Saturday when they take on the other Winnipeg team, the Blues, in Winnipeg. Game time is 7:30pm.

The Kings are now 26-20-1-0 and have won three straight. They remain second in the MJHL's West Division going into tomorrow's action.
