Kings Take Out Monarchs 5-1

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings snapped their losing skid Saturday night in Winnipeg, beating the Monarchs 5-1.

The first 20 minutes saw the Kings get out shot 5-0 in the first few minutes but they'd rebound and open the scoring when Ash Mitchelmore tallied his sixth of the campaign. As the period went on the shots would level off and end at 7-6 for the Monarchs.

In the second the Kings would double their lead when Ethan Stewart (12) scored on the man advantage. The marker was Stewart's first since January 17th. Dauphin would continue to carry the play throughout the period and out shoot Winnipeg 20-7 in the period. They'd lead 2-0 after 40.

The third had the Kings gain an early Power Play and score on it to go up 3-0. Nicholas Zaharias would be given the goal, his 11th of the season. Winnipeg would make a good push after the Zaharias goal, making it 3-1 on the Power Play. The Monarchs got three straight man advantages but couldn't draw any closer. The Kings added two more goals from Helary (16) and Mitchelmore (7) to make the final 5-1.
