Kings Take First Exhibition Game

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings started their pre hockey season off well on Monday afternoon, picking up a 4-1 victory over the Swan Valley Stampeders at Credit Union Place.

The Kings opened up strong, scoring goals in the early stages of the first period. Dauphin got goals from Jaxon Heeney and Sam Harris is the first frame. Those goals were followed by tallies in the second period by Alex Cattani and Matt Pitchenese shorthanded. 

The Stampeders briefly cut the Kings' lead in half late in the first period but couldn't get the contest back on even terms. 

Goaltenders Bob Parenteau (Starter) and Albert Adamsen shared the win between the pipes for Dauphin. Parenteau stopped 14 of 15 shots while Adamsen turned aside all nine he faced. Overall the Kings out shot Swan Valley 29-24.

Other standouts for the Kings included Ryder Richmond on the back end and forward Jaymes Knee had a couple entertaining shifts for the fans. 

Next up for the Dauphin Kings is a rematch with the Swan Valley Stampeders Tuesday in Swan River. The tilt goes at 7:30pm. Be sure to follow the Kings throughout social media for updates!
