Kings Take Eight At 2020 Draft

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings and the rest of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League took part in the league's annual draft Sunday and the morning saw the Kings select eight players!

Dauphin started things off with the 5th overall pick, taking forward Rylan Gage from the Bantam Yellowhead Chiefs.

The Kings followed that selection up with two defencemen. They started with Thomas Stewart (16th overall) who spent last season with the Rink Hockey Academy. Then Dauphin took Eastman D-man Roan Coe in the third round (27th overall). The Kings had another pick in the third round (31st overall) and they took Winnipeg forward product Cole Kennedy.

The fourth round saw the Kings pick up northern Manitoba forward Joey Lies (38th overall). The forward spent last season with the Norman Wolves.  Then in the fifth round (48th overall) Dauphin selected goaltender Francois Gagnon of Richer. He spent last season with Coe and the Eastman Selects as well.

The draft would move on to the sixth round where Dauphin would take two players. First (60th overall) the Kings would grab Skylar Ramsay from the Brandon Wheat Kings then they would select Parkland D-man Skyler Carriere (65th overall) to conclude the festivities.

The Kings would like to welcome all players and their families to the organization and we look forward to seeing you in the fall!
