DAUPHIN, MB - For the second straight season the Dauphin Kings are off to a 3-0-0-0 start following a 4-1 victory over the Neepawa Titans Friday night.
It was a well played road game by the Kings, who didn't start out great early on, but after the first half of the opening period they found their legs and were able to take control of things after Neepawa opened the scoring.
Gabriel Bugeaud notched his first of the season in the first period to make it 1-1 going into the second.
In the middle frame Dauphin was in control, scoring the only two goals of the period. First Joey Kubas tallied his first MJHL goal and then Cayden Glover (3) walked in on a breakaway and snapped one to the top left corner to give his group some insurance.
Gavin Nemis scored his first of the season on the man advantage late in the third period to seal it for the Kings.
Dauphin's Power Play went 1 for 2 while their Penalty Kill was 3 for 4. Shots were in favour of the Kings who won the battle 38-29.
Now the Kings return to Credit Union Place Saturday night for the back end of the home-and-home set with the Titans. They'll try to do something they couldn't do last year, win their fourth straight contest to kick off the season. Game time Saturday is slated for 7:30pm!
