Kings Take Care Of Steelers, Win Second Straight

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings scored four times in the second period en route to a 5-3 victory over the Selkirk Steelers Tuesday night at Credit Union Place.

After a scoreless opening period the Kings fired in goals from four different scorers. For the second straight game Rylan Gage kicked things off, this time with his 12th of the season. Dauphin then got goals from Gavin Nemis (10), Ethan Stewart (6) and Gabriel Bugeaud (12) on the man advantage.

Selkirk came out hungry and a bit chippy in the third period but the Kings held them off with Ty Pratte scoring an empty netter for his fourth of the campaign.

Special Teams saw the Kings go 1 for 5 while Selkirk finished 1 for 4.

Cole Sheffield picked up his second straight victory and stood tall stopping 23 of 26 shots while his team once again outshot their opponent, this time with 31 shots on goal.

The Kings, now 28-11-1-0, get set for a big three game in three night weekend beginning Friday in Steinbach (7:00pm). The trip will also see the Kings meet Niverville on Saturday (7:00pm) and Winkler on Sunday (7:30pm). Dauphin's next home game is next Wednesday (Feb. 12) against the Swan Valley Stampeders. The contest is a make up affair from December 15th. Season ticket holders can use their ticket from that game to get into the one on Wednesday.
