Kings’ Stewart Showing Well At World Junior A Challenge

Ethan Stewart is putting together a great tournament wearing the Red & White.
The Dauphin Kings' star forward and former AAA provincial champion is playing with Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge. In two games, Stewart has a goal and two assists for three points.
On Monday, Stewart unleashed a beautiful shot from the right circle that beat Maksim Corovic. Stewart also had a primary assist on a goal scored by Brody Green of the Steinbach Pistons. Green's goal with a minute left forced extra time against Team Canada East. In the end, it was Team East that downed Stewart and Team West, 4-3, in a shootout.
In the team's first game, a 6-2 loss against Team Sweden, Stewart had one assist. With a loss in regulation and one shootout loss, Team West is in fourth place with just one point. Team East has one regulation and one shootout win, giving them five points. The United States and Team Sweden are tied in second with three points.
After a day off on Tuesday, Stewart and Team West play their final preliminary round game on Wednesday against the United States. After Wednesday, the first-place team will play the fourth-place team in the semifinals. The second-place team meets the third-place team.
The medal games are on Saturday.
