TONIGHT'S MATCH UP
KINGS (25-9-1-0) - 1st in West
It's another game in hand opportunity for the Dauphin Kings as the Northern Manitoba Blizzard are once again idle this evening. The Kings still have two games in hand on the Blizzard and have now created a four point gap for first place in the West Division.
It's a somewhat quiet next two weeks for the Kings before things get very busy in February. Dauphin plays just four games over the next 14 days, but five players (Glover, Sheffield, Nemis, Hofer & Thomas) will head to the MJHL/SJHL Showcase early next week in Winnipeg.
Dauphin's Special Teams were solid in their 7-1 win in Winnipeg on Saturday, but the team's Penalty Kill is struggling to string together a few successful games. Right now Dauphin's PK is at 81.4% which has slipped to 6th overall. The Kings' Penalty Kill is chugging along just fine however, it's at 26% and that's good enough for 3rd in the MJHL.
Cayden Glover (30G, 17A) will look to continue his point streak tonight. In his last five games he has seven goals and three assists for 10 points.

STAMPEDERS (9-24-3-1) - 6th in West
Just when it looked like the Swan Valley Stampeders were going to fade away from the playoff race in the West Division they pick up another big win to keep their hopes alive. On Saturday Swan Valley beat the Selkirk Steelers 3-2 to stay within eight points of the final playoff spot.
After tonight's game with Dauphin things will not get any easier as the Stamps will play six straight on the road. If they can get through that stretch with some points they'll look forward to a home heavy finish to their season and a chance to leap up past the Waywayseecappo Wolverines and Virden Oil Capitals. Ten of Swan Valley's final 13 games are on home ice.
Special Teams for the Stampeders remain in the bottom half of the MJHL. On the Power Play Swan Valley is 9th in the league at 19.4% while on the Penalty Kill they're dead last at 71.7%.
Landen Gulutzan (15G, 20A) leads the Stampeders in points coming into tonight with 40.
