DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings blew a 4-1 lead after the first period Sunday night, falling 7-4 to the OCN Blizzard.

The Kings opened the contest with a great first period. They scored four times after the Blizzard opened the scoring just over five minutes into the affair. First it was Koby Morrisseau (3), then Charles Massey (7) scored a shorthanded goal off a great feed from Tyson Kozak. Jean-Michael Gilbert would tally off a face off late in the period for his first in the MJHL. Grady Hobbs would wrap up Dauphin's opening 20 minutes with his seventh of the campaign.

After the first 20 minutes OCN chipped away and made it a 4-4 contest after the second period.

The third period saw the game go tied until late in the frame and eventually the Blizzard would break the deadlock, making it 5-4. They would add a couple to finalize the score at 7-4.

OCN was treated to six power plays on the night while Dauphin had just two through most of the game, then they were awarded a man advantage with just over two minutes to play.

Matthias Smith suffered the loss in goal, stopping 31 of the 38 shots he faced. His team put 22 on the OCN net.

Dauphin's record shifts to 3-3-0-0 on the season. The team will have one day off before they return to action on Tuesday when the Blizzard return to Credit Union Place.
