DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings got two goals from Joey Kubas and a strong performance from Hunter Bauer en route to a 4-2 win over the Blizzard in The Pas Tuesday night.

The first 20 minutes saw Dauphin come out solid with the first three shots of the game. They'd be rewarded a few moments later when Joey Kubas (12) would tally off a feed from Rylan Gage. The teams would trade chances but Dauphin's 1-0 lead would hold up after the first.

In the second the line of Gage, Zaharias & Kubas came out flying. Kubas (13) would score his second of the night off another nice feed from Gage to make it a 2-0 Dauphin lead. The Kings would have loads of chances the rest of the period but couldn't extend their lead and the Blizzard made them pay, making it 2-1 in the final minute and making things interesting for the final frame.

The third had the Kings again start well. This time it was Sheldon Shyiak (4) scoring off a nice pass cross crease from Josh Schmidt. The goal came just past the seven minute mark. Wyatt Dyck (9) would give his team some more insurance, making it 4-1 late. The Blizzard would get to within two in the dying minutes but it wasn't enough with the Kings skating away with the 4-2 victory.

Special Teams saw both teams go 0 for 3 on the Power Play.

Shots were 38-24 the Kings. Hunter Bauer was good when he needed to be and took the win in goal for Dauphin.

The next game for the Kings is Saturday as they open up a two game in two night home stand. They'll take on the Neepawa Titans Saturday at 7:00pm before battling the Niverville Nighthawks on Sunday 4:00pm. It's all part of a three game home stand that concludes Tuesday when they welcome the Swan Valley Stampeders to town (7:00pm).
