Kings Snap Losing Skid

DAUPHIN, MB – The Dauphin Kings scored six even strength goals en route to a 6-1 victory over the Swan Valley Stampeders Wednesday night at Credit Union Place.

The veterans led the way for the Kings, with Brandon Holtby (1), Austin Douglas (2) and Daniel Chartrand (3) all being named to the three stars.

Chartrand (3) got things going for the Kings in the first period. Douglas (1) followed things up later in the frame and then notched his second of the evening in the third. Other scorers for the Kings were Keaton Leininger (2), Carson Romeril (1) and Kyle Oleksiuk (4). Oleksiuk now leads the team in goals.

Brandon Holtby had a confidence building night in net, stopping 51 of 52 shots he faced according to the shot clock. The Kings fired 33 on the Swan Valley goal.

Other players with notable nights were Brendan Kochanski (2 Assists) and Graeme Hore (2 Assists).

It was a much better 60 minute game when it came to structure and overall execution by Dauphin.

The win snaps the Kings losing streak and sends them into the weekend with a record of 2-6-0. Next up is a date with the Terriers in Portage on Friday. Game time is 7:30pm!
