Kings Sign Puck Moving D-man

DAUPHIN, MB – The Dauphin Kings are happy to announce the signing of 18 year old defenceman Matthew Boren (1999) for the upcoming Manitoba Junior Hockey League season.

Boren stands at 5’11 and 179 pounds. The product of Devils Lake, North Dakota was recently drafted 48th overall in the North American Hockey League Entry Draft by the Kenai River Brown Bears. In 26 games last season Boren put up 10 goals and 22 assists for 32 points with Devils Lake High in the USHS.

Boren attended Dauphin Kings Spring Camp in April and that helped him make his decision. “Right when I got there Coach Berry met with me and spoke to me. He told me what everything in Dauphin is all about. He made me feel really welcome and that helped a lot.”

“It’s a great opportunity for me. The way things are run in Dauphin are excellent from top to bottom. Coach Berry and his staff made me feel really good about joining the team and it was a very simple decision for me when it came to signing with the Kings.”

“Matthew is a puck moving defenceman that excels at making the smart simple plays that get the puck going north. We first identified him at our Spring Camp & Draft Combine and we feel he’ll immediately bring positive dividends to our back end” says Kings Head Coach and General Manager Marc Berry.

The Kings would like to welcome Matthew and his family to the City of Sunshine!
