DAUPHIN, MB – The Dauphin Kings announced Friday morning that they have signed two former Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League forwards in Riese Gaber (1999) and Brendan Arnold (1999).

Brendan Arnold spent his 2015-16 hockey season with the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League champion Winnipeg Wild. The 6’2, 170lbs forward from Winnipeg notched 35 points in 44 games (13G, 22A) for the top ranked Wild. He also helped the club achieve the MMHL title with seven assists in 10 post season affairs.

“There’s a lot of things to like about Brendan Arnold. He’s a 6’2 guy that gets around the ice very well, plays the game the right way and has some finishing ability.” – Kings Head Coach & GM Marc Berry

Most people inside the Parkland and Dauphin area know of Riese Gaber. In 2015-16 the 5’5, 125lbs forward from Gilbert Plains led the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League’s Rangers with 61 points (22G, 39A) in 44 contests which was second in league scoring. He also took part in eight tilts with the Kings, notching two goals and an assist in that span. At the end of the campaign the 16 year old was named to the MMHL’s First All Star Team.

“We’re looking forward to having Riese here for a full season. We thought he adapted to the junior game very well at the end of last year. He’s a highly skilled and intelligent player that has the ability to make those around him better.” – Marc Berry
