Kings Shut Out Stampeders

SWAN RIVER, MB - The Dauphin Kings continued their early pre season success Tuesday night with a 3-0 victory over the Swan Valley Stampeders.

It was a very well played game by the Kings from pretty much start to finish.

In the opening period Dauphin got out front when Nick Ness notched his first of the pre season, pushing home a rebound on a Kings man advantage opportunity. The second period saw the Kings continue to control the play and eventually Brendan Arnold capitalized, tipping a point shot from John Jebamani home. The final period had Ness once again bang home a rebound for his second of the night.

The Kings controlled the tilt for most of the night and that was reflected in the shots where they finished 38-14.

Dauphin finished 1 for 4 on the power play while the Stampeders were 0 for 6.

Brady Weiss and Parker Waseylenko shared the shut out for the Kings. Weiss stopped all seven shots he faced while Waseylenko turned aside seven as well.

Riese Gaber quietly went about his business for the Kings, racking up three assists in the effort.

Now Dauphin gets set for a couple days of practice before their next action. They'll return to Credit Union Place on Friday when they entertain the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Yorkton Terriers. Game time is 7:30pm.
