Kings Shut Out In OCN

THE PAS, MB – The Dauphin Kings could never get anything going in their second road contest of the season and it ended up costing them in a 3-0 loss to the OCN Blizzard on Saturday.

The first period the Kings took some time to get settled in, and by the end of the frame they were down 2-0.

The middle frame was a much better one by the Kings, but they were still unable to beat Blizzard netminder Emilem Boily, who took the shut out between the pipes, stopping all 26 shots put towards him.

In the third period Dauphin once again couldn’t generate anything, giving up the lone tally of the frame.

Tanner Douglas made his MJHL debut for the Kings and played well, stopping 32 of 35. At time Douglas kept Dauphin in the contest, turning aside some key opportunities for OCN.

The Kings finished the night 0 for 8 on the Power Play while OCN was 1 for 6.

Next up for Dauphin is their third game of the campaign, their home opener at Credit Union Place. The Kings home opener happens Friday when the club welcomes the Swan Valley Stampeders to town. Puck drop is 7:30pm. See you there, the game is FREE to attend!
