DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings scored a goal in each periond and controlled things throughout the night in a 3-0 victory over the OCN Blizzard.
Leeam Tivers got things started for the Kings when he notched his sixth of the season just over eight minutes into the opening period. Dauphin out shot OCN 19-7 in the first.
The middle frame was more of the same as the Kings out shot OCN 16-8 and Ian Tookenay grabbed his second of the year with just under a second remaining in the period.
The third period saw Dauphin once again control things, outshooting the Blizzard 18-11. They were rewarded in the final minute Eamonn Miller scored an empty netter for his eighth of the season.
Overall the Kings out shot OCN 53-26 with Ethan Slobodzian earning the shut out in goal. Dauphin failed to score on the man advantage Wednesday.
The Kings have now won three straight and find themselves with a record of 22-19-4 on the season. They remain 6th in the standings with 48 points, five back of the Selkirk Steelers and Virden Oil Capitals.
The club will regroup ahead of a tough weekend set with the Portage Terriers. It begins Friday night in Portage with puck drop slated for 7:30pm!
