TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

KINGS (20-14-1-0)

The Kings will try to stop the bleeding tonight when they visit Steinbach. Dauphin has dropped three straight and four of their first five games to kick off the 2026 calendar year. It's game two of a four game road swing for the Kings. They'll play the third contest tomorrow in Winkler before closing it out Tuesday in Waywayseecappo.

After falling from first to second on Tuesday Dauphin is in danger of slipping to third place in the MJHL's West Division. Neepawa and the Kings are tied for second right now. A Dauphin loss and a Titans win against NorMan this evening will see the Kings fall to third in the division.

Special Teams were ok in Tuesday's loss to Virden. Dauphin's Power Play went 1 for 3 and is now 9th in the league at 21.6%. Their Penalty Kill finished 3 for 4 and now finds itself 8th at 79.1%.

Nicholas Zaharias (9G, 25A) continues to lead Dauphin in scoring with 34 points.

PISTONS (27-7-1-0)

This is the first game on home ice in 2026 for the Steinbach Pistons. They've been kicked out of their home rink with the Grand Slam of Curling taking over. It concluded over the weekend. Steinbach comes into this game remaining 2nd in the East Division, 12 points behind the Niverville Nighthawks and four points up on the Portage Terriers.

Steinbach will play three of their next four on home ice including a big home-and-home set with the Portage Terriers beginning on Sunday.

Special Teams haven't changed much since Dauphin and Steinbach met last week. The Pistons' Power Play is ranked 5th at 23.6% while their Penalty Kill remains 1st in the MJHL at 88.7%.

Jack Greenwell is the leading scorer of the Pistons with 24 goals and 12 assists for 36 points.
