Kings Seek Strong Effort On Home Ice In Game Six

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings will look to respond on home ice tonight when they host the Portage Terriers for game six of their best-of-seven MJHL Semi Final Series.

Dauphin is coming off that 3-0 loss in Portage on Saturday night where the Terriers clearly outplayed them to stay alive in the series.

The Kings still hold the 3-2 advantage in the set and a victory tonight will send them to the MJHL Final against the Northern Manitoba Blizzard. A loss and they'll head back to Portage for game seven on Wednesday.

TICKET OFFICE IS OPEN FROM 10:00AM TO GAME TIME (7:30pm)!

Tonight's game at Credit Union Place is once again sponsored by Dauphin's Countryfest! Support this great local festival and spend the weekend together June 26th to 29th just south of Dauphin! The Kings will try for the second time to move on to the final round of the MJHL playoffs tonight, but again it won't be easy as the Terriers play for their lives in Dauphin.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Special Teams were once again a factor in Saturday's game five. This time it was the Terriers picking up a goal on the man advantage. Dauphin, meanwhile, did not score on three attempts. The Kings' Special Teams have been very good on home ice in the playoffs. Their Power Play sits at a very strong 33.3% while on the Penalty Kill they are at 77.8% at Credit Union Place.

For Portage, the Terriers continue to improve on their Special Teams, but on the road they will try for stronger numbers. Their Power Play is at 17.4% while their Penalty Kill is 68.8%.

LEADING SCORERS

Nothing changed for the Kings when it came to their leading scorers in the playoffs, obviously. Cayden Glover is tied for the lead for the Manitoba Junior Hockey League's playoff scoring race with 10 points. Right behind him is D-man Matthew Thomas with five goals and four assists for nine points. Dauphin has seven players with six or more points coming into this evening's affair.

Cameron Bullinger had a strong game for Portage on Saturday and is now tied with Glover in points with a goal and nine assists.
