DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings season is over following a 3-1 loss to the Waywayseecappo Wolverines Thursday night.
The opening 20 minutes saw the Kings play one of their best periods of the series. They out shot Waywayseecappo 13-3 but came away trailing 1-0.
In the second the Kings slipped back a little and fell behind 2-0. After the second goal Bryson Yaschyshyn replaced Hunter Bauer in goal. Yaschyshyn helped the Kings kill off a five minute penalty to Dylan Miko. Yaschyshyn stopped nine of nine shots he faced in the second. Bauer finished with six saves on eight shots.
In the third period the Kings dominated but could not beat Jase Wareham between the Wolverines’ pipes until late, making it 3-1. It was Kings Captain Rylan Gage scoring the lone marker for Dauphin.
Shots finished 39-25 for the Kings.
Special Teams saw both teams go 0 for 1 on the man advantage.
The Kings now head into the off season.
