DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings played one of their best games of the season Sunday night, picking up a 5-2 victory on the road over the Virden Oil Capitals.

Dauphin's new players all made an impact in the affair.

In the first period it was Kaden Bryant (1), treating the fans to a great goal on a tip in front.

Dauphin would take that 1-0 lead into the middle frame and build on it when Baron Thompson set up Bryant for his second of the night.

In the third Carter Sawchuk (16) gave Dauphin some more insurance when he spanked a shot through Virden's goaltender. The Oil Capitals made it a 3-1 affair before Grady Hobbs (27) fired a dart to restore the Kings' three goal lead. Virden would again get close before Braeden Young (1) notched his first as a King, it was an empty netter to seal the deal for Dauphin.

Levi Mitchell was excellent between the pipes in his debut for Dauphin. He stopped 39 of 41 shots. His team fired 33 on the Virden net.

The Oil Capitals were treated to seven power plays Sunday night. They scored once. Dauphin had four opportunities and did not tally.

The Kings improve their record to 19-17-3-2 on the season and will see their next action on Tuesday when they head north for the final time this season to take on the OCN Blizzard. Game time is 7:00pm!
