Kings Roll To Seventh Straight Win, Beat Monarchs 6-0

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings scored five times in the second period en route to a 6-0 victory over the Winnipeg Monarchs Saturday night at Credit Union Place.

The Kings got goals from six different players in the win.

The opening period was a little tense but still controlled by Dauphin as they out shot the Monarchs 13-6.

In the second period the Kings took over on the goal sheet, scoring five times in the final 12 minutes of the frame. They got markers from Quinten Fisk (3), Rylan Gage (4), Kale Pratte (4), Daniel Helary (4) and Gavin Haslam with his first in the MJHL. Dauphin out shot Winnipeg 25-4 in the second.

In the third the Kings continued to control things and Brett Magarrell (1) wrapped up the scoring just over three minutes in.

Justin Perreault picked up the shut out in goal, stopping all 22 shots he faced. His team had a total of 53.

Dauphin ended the night 1 for 1 on the Penalty Kill and 1 for 5 on the Power Play.

The win is the Kings' seventh straight and puts them at 7-1-0-0 on the year. They're back to first in the West Division, tied with Virden but a better winning percentage and less games played.

Dauphin returns to action tomorrow night when they make the trek down to Winkler to play the Flyers for the first time this season (7:30pm). The Kings are back at Credit Union Place on Tuesday when they host the Northern Manitoba Blizzard at 7:00pm!
