TONIGHT'S MATCHUP
KINGS (3-1-0-0)
The Kings spent the last week practicing and fine tuning their game ahead of this week's stretch which will see them play three games in six nights.
Dauphin starts the week off in Swan River and then this weekend they'll go to Winnipeg to play the Monarchs on Saturday. Following Saturday's contest it's an afternoon affair in Niverville on Sunday at 3:00pm. The Kings' next game at Credit Union Place is Friday October 18th when they host Ladies Night presented by Dr.Brenna & Three Graces Medi Spa.
Not much has changed for the Kings on the Special Teams side. They've only played four games and the rest of the West Division has now caught or passed them in games played. Both Wayway (7) and Virden (6), teams the Kings are now behind have played at least two more games than Dauphin. The Kings are just two points behind both for top spot in the Division.
Entering the week Ethan Stewart (2G, 3A) and Nicolas Zaharias (2G, 3A) both lead the Kings in points with five.
STAMPEDERS (1-6-0-0)
Since their season opening win against the Dauphin Kings things have not gone well for the Swan Valley Stampeders. The second most northern Manitoba team has lost six straight games since September 19th and have scored just 13 goals in that stretch, giving up 37 in the process. That's 2.17 goals per game and 6.17 against.
Swan Valley will need to right the ship soon or they will be in danger of falling too far behind in the standings and struggle to make up ground as the season goes on. After tonight the Stampeders play two games on the road this weekend in Steinbach and Winnipeg (Blues).
Swan Valley's Special Teams are mixed. Their Power Play is decent so far this season, sitting 5th overall in the MJHL at 20% while their Penalty Kill is second worst at 65.6%.
Crosby Harrison (3G, 3A) and Trace Langan (1G, 5A) lead the Stampeders with six points each coming into tonight's tilt.
