Kings Resume Play Against Terriers

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings return to the ice tonight following three days off from game action when they visit the Portage Terriers.

It's the second meeting of the season between the two teams. They've split things so far with both clubs winning on the road and both winning by a score of 3-2.

It's the first of two games this week for the Kings. They'll return to action on Saturday when they entertain the Winnipeg Freeze at Credit Union Place.

Between now and that game Saturday is the Trade Deadline so it may not seem like a super busy week on the ice for the Kings, but it is off the ice.

It's a Sunday afternoon affair so it's perfect for the entire family to attend. In the first intermission it's the return of the Home Hardware Football Toss with the pot starting at $180.00!

Game time tonight is 7:30pm!

Be sure to follow the Kings on social media throughout tonight's tilt for updates!

TONIGHT'S MATCH UP

KINGS (22-8-1-0) - 1st in West

A bit of a road heavy stretch starts tonight for the Dauphin Kings.

Starting tonight they'll play five of their next eight games on the road. They'll go to Portage on Wednesday before the Trade Deadline which hits on January 10th (Friday). Then after Wednesday the Kings return to Dauphin for two on home ice beginning on Saturday January 11th. Then three straight on the road followed by Ukrainian Night on January 25th.

Dauphin's Special Teams looked a lot more like fans have come to expect this season on Saturday. With their PP and PK success the team is now 3rd in the MJHL on the Power Play at 25.8% while their Penalty Kill is 3rd as well at 83.7%

After a couple goals on Saturday against the Blues Cayden Glover is now up to 25 on the season and leads his team in points with 39 coming into this evening.

TERRIERS (24-10-0-0) - 3rd in East

The Portage Terriers are coming off a 6-4 victory over the Steelers in Selkirk on Tuesday. The decision was the Terriers' 4th straight win and second straight to start 2025.

It may seem like a quiet week for the Dauphin Kings, that's not the case for the Portage Terriers. Portage is slated to play four games this week with tonight and two more on the weekend. That coupled with the Trade Deadline will make for a hectic week in Terrier town.

Portage's Special Teams are slowly rising as the season goes on. Their man advantage is at 20.4% which is good enough for 7th right now while their PK is 5th in league at 83.4%

Leading the Terriers in scoring is Cameron Bullinger. He's up to 44 points on the year with 14 goals and 30 assists.
