Kings Quiet On Trade Deadline

As expected the Dauphin Kings didn’t do much during the 2016 MJHL/CJHL Trade Deadline.

The club just made one transaction, sending 20 year old D-man Gordon Campbell to the Nipawin Hawks of the SJHL for future considerations.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Kings were so quiet on the Trade Deadline. Like last year Dauphin is moving forward in a different direction that sees the club bringing up a lot of youth into their line up, and a good chunk of that is local youth.

Moving forward the next few weeks should be exciting as Dauphin heads towards the post season. Fans might end up seeing a few players being called up from the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League. The Kings want to give some of their younger players a taste of the MJHL so it will be interesting to see what happens over the next two months and who gets called up.

Below is an interview with Kings Head Coach and GM Marc Berry discussing this year’s deadline, beginning with what his team did in the earlier stages of the day…
