Kings Prospect Helps Canada Win Gold

Zlín, Czech Republic - Most Canadians spent their Canada Day long weekend at the beach, in the back yard or on the golf course. Kings prospect Jack Oleksiuk spent it by helping Team Canada West take gold at the U16 World Junior Ball Hockey Championship in the Czech Republic.

On Sunday Canada West took out Slovakia 3-1 in the gold medal affair in the Czech Republic. The event featured 10 teams including groups from Poland, Switzerland and the USA.

Oleksiuk was part of the Canada West team that went perfect through the tournament. They won all five of their outings, outscoring their opponents 36-8 in the process while Oleksiuk tallied two goals and an assist playing in all five of the games for the Canadians.
