Kings Point Streak Ends In Loss To Pistons

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings started strong but ran out of gas after the opening period in a 6-1 loss to the Steinbach Pistons at Credit Union Place Saturday night.

Dauphin fell behind early, giving up the game’s first goal but Grady Hobbs (11) would respond later in the frame when the Kings were awarded a man advantage.

The affair would be tied 1-1 heading into the middle frame but that’s where the Kings would fall behind and the Pistons took over.

Steinbach scored just one in the middle frame, but then added four more in the third en route to the victory.

Zach Grouette took the loss in goal for the Kings, stopping 44 of the 50 shots he face while his team put just 21 on the Steinbach goal.

Power plays had the Kings scoring once on the man advantage while Steinbach tallied twice.

The loss drops the Kings to 8-7-3-2 on the season. They’ll now hit the road and not return to Credit Union Place until TV Tuesday November 26th when they battle the OCN Blizzard. Between now and then Dauphin will play six straight on the road. The stretch begins Friday night in Selkirk when the Kings visit the Steelers for the first time this season. Puck drop is 7:30pm!
