TONIGHT'S MATCHUP
KINGS (13-6-1-0)
We three straight wins under their belt the Kings will try to carry forward their momentum gained on the road at Credit Union Place. Home ice has been mostly kind to the Kings so far this season. Their home record is 5-1-1-0 through just seven games. Other than the Winnipeg Blues (6), the Dauphin Kings have played the least amount of home games out of teams in the MJHL so far this season.
When it comes to this weekend this is game one of two for Dauphin. After tonight they'll get tomorrow off before heading to Winnipeg to play those Blues on Sunday. After that road game the Kings will not have another away game until December 16th.
Dauphin will look to improve their Special Teams on this upcoming stretch at home. Their Power Play is not great considering how strong it is on the road, at home it's at 19.2%. Penalty Killing on home ice for the Kings has been good. They've given up just three goals and sit at 85.7%.
PISTONS (16-4-1-0)
The schedule is a bit of a weird one for the Steinbach Pistons right now. They're currently in the midst of playing three games in four nights. The swing began last night in Waywayseecappo with a 7-3 win. Tonight they're obviously in Dauphin. They'll follow up this evening's game with a day off tomorrow before returning to action on Sunday at home against the Neepawa Titans.
After tonight's game against the Kings Steinbach will open up a six game home stand, giving them a chance to catch up to the East Division leading Niverville Nighthawks.
Special Teams continue to be good for the Pistons. Their Power Play is clicking at 24% while their Penalty Kill is at 83.9%.
Leading the Pistons in scoring is Jack Greenwell with 17 goals and 10 assists for 27 points.
