DAUPHIN, MB - For the fastest time in its history the Dauphin Kings Par 3 Extravaganza has has SOLD OUT!

The Kings opened registrations for their annual tournament earlier this month and saw registrations skyrocket in just a couple weeks, eventually leading to the event's sell out.

This year's Par 3 is slated for Saturday August 29th at the Gilbert Plains Country Club!

Normally the Par 3 tournament goes down in the middle of June but due to COVID-19 the Kings were forced to move the event to later in the summer. It's a key fundraiser for the club, raising roughly $10,000 each year.

"The response was awesome to see" says Kings Director of Business Operations Christian Laughland. "The moment we opened registrations there was a flood of people that wanted in on the action. Clearly people have the itch for tournament golf after the difficult spring and early summer we've all had. I think we all just want to get back to normal and the Kings Par 3 is something that everyone who takes part will enjoy from start to finish."

With the tournament selling out now the Kings will shift their focus to sponsors and prizes.

"This is something we haven't seen in the Par 3's history. Usually when it sells out it's a week or two before the day, not two months. With it being sold out this early we can now focus on filling up the sponsorship for the event and getting prizes for all the golfers" says Laughland. "We've already secured our tournament gift for all the participants. We'll be going with coolers this year and we'd like to thank Dave and Parkland Source for Sports in Dauphin for helping us iron out the details."

This year is the best year yet when it comes to being a sponsor of the Par 3. Loads of golfers will take to the Gilbert Plains Country Club on August 29th. The shotgun start is at 10:00am with check in beginning at 9:00am. It also features a great meal after the event and, as mentioned, prizes and fun!
