TONIGHT'S MATCH UP
KINGS (32-15-2-1) - 1st in West
The Kings continue their journey when it comes to finishing first in the MJHL's West Division. Coming into this evening Dauphin leads Northern Manitoba by six points. Both teams are in action with the Blizzard home to the Winnipeg Blues. The Kings face Norman on Tuesday in what will be a key game when it comes to the division race, especially depending on what happens this weekend. Tomorrow the Kings battle Niverville while Norman meets Selkirk.
After tonight the Kings open up a three game home stand at Credit Union Place. Their schedule is balanced the rest of season. Four on the road and four at home. Travel is also in favour of Dauphin, they don't travel more than two hours away from the city with their longest trip being to Waywayseecappo on March 11th.
Special Teams for the Kings enter tonight's game moving in a good direction. Their Power Play sits 3rd overall at 24.1% while their Penalty Kill is at 82.7% and that's now good enough for 5th overall.
Gavin Nemis (12G, 36A) and Naaman Hofer (6G, 42A) are both close to passing Cayden Glover (52) for the team lead in points. Both are at 48.
TITANS (27-19-2-3) - 3rd in West
The Neepawa Titans continue to battle with the Northern Manitoba Blizzard for second place in the West Division. Entering tonight they're just two points back of the Blizzard but Norman has a game in hand. Neepawa has a shot at moving up into second, but may have to win at least five of their remaining seven games to do so.
Much like the Kings, the Titans schedule is mixed with road games and home games. Neepawa plays four of their final seven on home ice and travel isn't too bad for the Titans as their furthest trip is to Niverville on March 9th.
Neepawa's Special Teams are solid heading down the stretch. Their Power Play is 4th in the MJHL at 23.1% while their Penalty Kill is 9th at 78.8%.
Tim Tychonick (18G, 27A) is the leading scorer of the Titans with 45 points
