TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

KINGS (4-1-0-0)

After looking a little flat to start things off in Tuesday's win against the Swan Valley Stampeders the Kings eventually found their legs and rolled to a 2-1 victory. Despite the close score the Kings were more in control than one may think, outshooting Swan Valley 31-18.

It's game one of a back-to-back weekend for the Kings. They'll visit the Niverville Nighthawks tomorrow afternoon for a Thanksgiving Sunday treat at 3:00pm. Niverville is off tonight.

Dauphin's Special Teams improved in Tuesday's win over Swan Valley. Coming into tonight their Power Play is at 20% and is 6th overall in the MJHL. On the Penalty Kill the Kings have been very good as of late. They're ranked 6th as well on the PK at 86.7%.

Entering the weekend Ethan Stewart (2G, 3A) and Nicolas Zaharias (2G, 3A) both lead the Kings in points with five.

MONARCHS (1-9-0-0)

So far the name change has not really helped the Winnipeg Monarchs when it comes to winning. The Monarchs have just one win on the season and sit with the league's second worst record at 1-9-0-0 on the campaign. Their one win, however, is better than the Northern Manitoba Blizzard who have not won yet but played just five games.

The game tonight is part of a two game weekend home stand for the Monarchs. They'll host their Winnipeg counterparts, the Blues, tomorrow night. Then the Monarchs head on the road for three straight including a meeting in Dauphin next Saturday.

Winnipeg's Special Teams are both dead last in the MJHL. Their Power Play is at 4.9% and their Penalty Kill sits at 50%.

Leading the way for the Monarchs when it comes to points is Maxx Hamelin. He has three goals and three assists for six points in 10 games.
