DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings' Rookies hammered the Swan Valley Stampeder Rookies 6-1 to open up the MJHL Pre Season Monday night at Credit Union Place.
The Kings scored two goals every period to gain the victory.
In the opening frame Dauphin got goals from Ben Hackl and local product Garrett Hrechka. Then in the second period connected again on the club's fourth goal, Hackl's second of the night. Before that Matthew Ramsey tallied for the Kings. Swan Valley got on the board late in the second. The final frame saw D-man Zach Turner tally and Yellowhead product Slade Stanick iced it for the Kings.
Mathias Savoie (0GA) and Ian Lee (1GA) shared the win between the pipes. The shots ended up being 63-21 for Dauphin.
Power plays had the Kings go 0 for 2 while the Stampeders went 1 for 7.
Hackl finished the night with two goals and an assists, Hrechka marked a goal and three helpers and Colby Ralston treated the fans to three assists Monday.
Finally the Kings will receive a few days off before returning to action. They'll host the Neepawa Natives on Sunday before concluding the exhibition part of their season next Wednesday in Portage. Both game times are 7:30pm!
Season ticket holders can use their game tickets labelled for October 3rd at the September 27th game and books will be ready for pickup!
