DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings will try to clinch first spot in the MJHL's West Division tonight when they visit the Waywayseecappo Wolverines for the final time this season.
It may be the final meeting of the season between the Kings and Wolverines, but it is quite possible the two clubs could face off in the opening round of the post season.
This game tonight is very meaningful for both teams. Wayway is looking to fend off Virden in the race for the final spot and, as mentioned, Dauphin is trying to lock up top spot in the division.
Opening face off this evening is slated for 7:30pm!
Be sure to follow the Kings on social media throughout tonight's tilt for updates!

TONIGHT'S MATCH UP
KINGS (36-16-2-1) - 1st in West
Three games left for the Dauphin Kings and all they need to do to clinch top spot in the West Division is gain a single point. Easier said than done for sure, but the sooner the Kings can get it done the sooner they can give players a rest before the MJHL Post Season begins later next week.
The Kings won't need to scoreboard watch this evening. The Northern Manitoba Blizzard have the night off. They'll host the Virden Oil Capitals tomorrow night. Dauphin's record is not great against Waywayseecappo so far this season. They're 2-2 against the Wolverines.
Dauphin's Special Teams have been ok as of late. Their Power Play hasn't had many chances over the last few games. Coming into this evening they're at 23.4% which is 5th overall. On the Penalty Kill side they're 5th as well at 82.7%.
The points race for the Dauphin Kings is still up for grabs. Cayden Glover (33G, 19A), Gavin Nemis (14G, 36A) and Naaman Hofer (6G, 46A) are all within six points of each other.

WOVERINES (23-29-2-1) - 4th in West
The Waywayseecappo Wolverines will be keeping a close eye on the out of town scoreboard tonight. The Virden Oil Capitals, just three points back of Wayway, are in Swan River this evening. A win by the Oil Capitals and a regulation loss by the Wolverines would put Virden just one point back of Wayway for the final MJHL playoff spot. Both teams have three games left.
Wayway does have the advantage of the schedule at this time. Virden is playing all their remaining games on the road while the Wolverines play two of their final three at home. They'll play their final home game on Friday when they host the Winnipeg Blues.
The Wolverines' Special Teams are a mixed bag at this point. Their Power Play sits 9th in the MJHL at 18.6% while their Penalty Kill is 6th at 82%. Their numbers are much better at home though, on the man advantage they're almost 22% and on the PK they're at 84.21%.
Jaxon Grosdidier (22G, 25A) leads the Wolverines in scoring with 47 points.
