TONIGHT'S MATCH UP

KINGS (23-9-1-0) - 1st in West

Just two home games remain for the Dauphin Kings in the month of January. Tonight against Swan Valley and next Saturday against Virden (Ukrainian Night).

The Kings will try for another two points tonight and put a little bit of a gap between themselves and the Northern Manitoba Blizzard for top spot in the MJHL's West Division. The Blizzard have just three games left this month, they're home to Selkirk on Friday before playing the Flyers in Winkler twice next week.

Dauphin's Special Teams looked better in Saturday's win against the Winnipeg Freeze. Their Power Play is now ranked 3rd in the MJHL and back up to 25.9% while their Penalty Kill sits 6th overall at 81.8%.

Cayden Glover leads the Kings in scoring coming into tonight with 27 goals and 17 assists for 44 points.

STAMPEDERS (8-23-3-1) - 6th in West

The Swan Valley Stampeders elected to keep the core of their roster intact at the CJHL Trade Deadline. At this point it remains to be seen if that will pay off when it comes to making it to the post season.

The Stampeders didn't do themselves many favours after the deadline, dropping both their games to the Winnipeg Blues and Waywayseecappo Wolverines. Those are two games Swan Valley can not afford to lose down the stretch. A win tonight at Credit Union Place would be huge to keep them in the hunt. Right now they're eight points out of a playoff spot.

Special Teams for the Stampeders are a bit mixed. Their Power Play is ranked 8th in the MJHL at 19.2% while their Penalty Kill is dead last at 71.7%.

Landen Gulutzan, a 2004 born player the Stampeders elected to keep, leads Swan Valley in scoring coming into tonight with 15 goals and 24 assists for 39 points.
