DAUPHIN, MB - After nearly a week off from game action the Dauphin Kings return to Credit Union Place tonight to host the Virden Oil Capitals.
It's the beginning of a home and home set between the two clubs who have not met since the opening weekend of the season. That weekend the Kings took both games in Dauphin and Virden.
Since then the clubs have gone their separate ways. The Kings come into tonight first in the MJHL's West Division. The Oil Capitals are holding on to the final playoff spot in the West, but have a Waywayseecappo team nipping at their heels.
Lots going on at Credit Union Place tonight. Tonight's sponsor is Tim Hortons in Dauphin and they've got 175 Tims Cards to give out, so come early! Plus Tractor Lotto tickets are back on sale with everyone that buys a ticket being entered into a draw for a free single ticket sponsored by Steiner Plumbing & Heating! There are less than half of the three packs remaining. Don't forget the Home Hardware Football Toss is in the first intermission. The pot starts at $70.00!
Puck drop tonight is 7:30pm!
Be sure to follow the Kings on social media throughout today's tilt for updates!

TONIGHT'S MATCH UP
KINGS (16-6-1-0)
With wins in two of their last three games the Dauphin Kings will look to string together a few more wins as the club gets closer to the Christmas break in December. Dauphin has just four home games left before the break and eight games total remaining.
The month of November has been much kinder to the Kings compared to October but the club will look to finish the stretch strong this weekend. Coming into the next two days Dauphin is 6-2-1-0 this month. So far an improvement from their 6-4-0-0 record in October.
Special Teams have the Kings' Power Play ranked 3rd in the MJHL at 25.5% while their Penalty Kill is 2nd at 86.2%.
Cayden Glover (19G, 10A) will look to build on his two goal effort in Portage last weekend. He leads the Kings in points coming into tonight with 29.
OIL CAPITALS (11-12-0-0)
The Dauphin Kings have been off for almost a week while the Virden Oil Capitals are coming off a 6-4 win Wednesday night in Winnipeg against the Freeze.
As mentioned Virden sits 4th in the MJHL's West Division and are concluding what has been a pretty home heavy month. In fact it's been a home heavy start to the season for the Oil Capitals. In their first 23 games this season Virden has played 16 of them at home. On the horizon is a very road heavy schedule in the new year.
Virden's Special Teams have been a struggle this season. Their Power Play is ranked 11th (13.8%) in the MJHL while their Penalty Kill is 10th at 76.4%.
Noel Englot leads Virden in points with nine goals and 10 assists for 19 points so far this season.
