Kings off to Neepawa

As plenty of snow is expected to fall throughout the day, the Dauphin Kings will hit the road as they make their way to Neepawa to play the Titans.

It’s the seventh meeting between the two clubs with Dauphin winning five of the first six. On Tuesday, Logan Calder scored the overtime winner for Dauphin as they earned their 35th win of the season. Paired with Waywayseecappo’s shootout loss Thursday night, Dauphin has a 10 point advantage for first in the West Division.

The Kings have won 10 of their last 11 games heading into the contest and they have won six straight. Neepawa; meanwhile, is racking up losses at the wrong time. They were swept last weekend by OCN and have now lost two straight against Dauphin.

Earning a point on Tuesday was big for the club; however. They’re now just two points behind Swan Valley for the fourth and final playoff spot and they also have two games in hand.

Friday’s game is the first of a home-and-home that will be played over the next two days.

“They’re a desperate team and they’re playing hard,” said Doug Hedley on the Titans. “We had a real strong game last time we were in Neepawa. We need to play with pace and a lot of energy because Neepawa will come out hard.”

You can hear the game with Darnell Duff on 730CKDM, the pregame show gets underway at 7:15.
