Kings off to Dog Pound

The Dauphin Kings have been going backwards as they look to win the West Division for the second straight year as the club has lost four straight games.

But on Wednesday night, the team can correct things as they head to Portage to play the Terriers. Dauphin’s last win came against Portage as they downed them 4-3 back on November 22.

Dauphin has played some solid hockey since that game, they just haven’t been able to put a full 60 minutes together and pair it with offence. Dauphin has just five goals over their last four games.

Portage enters the game with 20 wins on the season as they’re right near the top of the East Division standings.

Wednesday’s game will mark the team’s first contest against Blake Boudreau. Boudreau started the season and played 20 games with the team before he was traded to Portage last week.

Boudreau had three points in his first two games with Portage. Jamie Valentino; meanwhile, will play his second game with Dauphin. He looked very good on Saturday and scored a goal in a 5-2 defeat against Winkler.

Wednesday’s game kicks off a very busy remainder of 2022 for Dauphin.

Despite their struggles as of late, this year’s Dauphin Kings roster is solid and they are just six points back of Swan Valley for first in the West Division.

You can watch tonight’s game on HockeyTV and tune into it on 730CKDM with Darnell Duff.
