Kings Move Riese Gaber To Steinbach

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings announced Thursday night that they have traded forward Riese Gaber to the Steinbach Pistons.

The deal sees Gaber going to Steinbach in exchange for forward Danny Pion (98), prospect D-man Mattie Boonstra (01), a 5th round pick in the 2018 MJHL Draft and Future Considerations.

"Riese came to us about a month ago and asked to be moved as this is most likely going to be his final season in the MJHL. There was also a strong possibility that he was going to miss most of December being with Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge" says Kings Interim Head Coach & GM Mitch Giguere.

"With that being the situation, we needed to make a move that would suit both Riese and the Dauphin Kings hockey club and in the end we believe we have added some assets that will benefit us both now and in the future. As an organization we worked on this deal for a long time" added Giguere.

The Kings would like thank Riese for all his time spent with the club, as well as wish him all the best for the rest of this season and throughout his hockey career. Dauphin would also like to take this time to welcome Danny, Mattie and their families to the City of Sunshine!
