Kings, Mitchell Blank Terriers

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings brought their strong play as of late to home ice Friday and won their third straight game, a 2-0 shut out over the Portage Terriers at Credit Union Place.

It was one of the most exciting fast paced games of the season with both goalies putting on a show. In the end it was the Kings who came away with an important two points as they head into a week long break.

There was no scoring in both the first and second period. Braeden Young (2) got the first goal of the night for the Kings when he banged home a loose puck just under seven minutes in. Then Cole DeKoninck (17) would notch an empty netter to get the Kings a big two points on home ice.

Levi Mitchell was superb in goal. Stopping all 29 shots he faced and receiving ovations from the crowd on a number of occasions. His time fired 31 on the Portage net.

Both teams finished the night 0 for 4 on the man advantage.

The win is the Kings' third straight and puts them at 21-17-3-2 on the season. The club now gets a week off before resuming action on Friday in Portage.

Dauphin's next home game is a big one, Ruff's Furniture Ukrainian Night on Saturday. Game time both Friday and Saturday are 7:30pm! Stay tuned for more on Ukrainian Night next week!
