Doug Hedley became the winningest coach in Dauphin Kings history on Sunday after the team downed the Niverville Nighthawks.
That win also pushed Dauphin into fourth place in the highly contested MGEU West Division. On Tuesday, Dauphin has the opportunity to create some space for themselves as they hit the ice against Waywayseecappo.
At 60 points, Dauphin holds a slim one-point lead over the Wolverines entering Tuesday’s contest, which is the sixth and final between the two teams this season.
Dauphin has won three of the five games so far and both at the Arena Complex, the venue for Tuesday’s meeting.
Dauphin snapped a five-game winless skid on Sunday while the Wolverines have lost four straight games, three of which have come against Steinbach while their other loss was against OCN.
The Wolverines do have a game in hand on Dauphin with the Kings set to play — including Tuesday — five more games in the regular season.

Player to Watch – Dauphin – Anthony Bax
His work ethic is thru the roof and he never gives up. In fact, Anthony Bax – who was drilled head-first into the boards on Sunday — returned to action a short time later and that just shows he tough he is.
Bax is also a very smooth skater and has an excellent offensive upside with five goals and 18 assists this season.
2022-23 Stats: 5 goals, 18 assists
Player to Watch – Waywayseecappo – Carson Baptiste
The Wolverines are still playing without their captain as — Andrew Boucher — who had 30 points in 30 games to start the season is still out with an upper-body injury.
So the Wolverines have relied heavily upon Carson Baptiste, who was still relied heavily upon with Boucher in the lineup. Carson has certainly not disappointed as he possesses some of the best wheels in the league and he has an incredible shot with a knack for finding the corners of the net.
If Dauphin wishes to have success on Tuesday, they will have to limit Baptiste, which not many teams have been able to do this season.
2022-23 Stats: 30 goals, 28 assists
