Kings Lose To Selkirk

SELKIRK, MB – For the second straight night the Dauphin Kings spotted their opponent a 3-0 lead and they couldn’t recover from it, losing 4-1 to the Selkirk Steelers Saturday.

Once again it was the Kings’ start that hindered them as they gave up the game’s first goal 2:21 into the opening period. The Steelers would then add two more in the second before Riese Gaber tallied his second of the season in the slot in the third period. The lone assist on the goal went to Matty Greening who fought Selkirk’s Dallas Starodub later on in the period.

Tanner Douglas suffered the loss in goal for the Kings, he ended up with 33 saves on 37 shots while Dauphin had 26 shots on the Selkirk net.

Special Teams were in favour of the Steelers this night. They had Selkirk going 2 for 6 on the man advantage while Dauphin was 0 for 7.

The Kings are now 2-11-2 on the year and will look to bounce back at home on Friday when they welcome the Winkler Flyers to Dauphin. Opening face off is 7:30pm and the game is sponsored by Dauphin’s Countryfest!

Sunday the Kings will be helping out with the Dauphin Co-op Haunted House behind the Rotary Arena. It get’s started at 5pm, see you there!
