DAUPHIN, MB – For the second straight game at home the Dauphin Kings were doubled by their opponent, this time 4-2 by the Neepawa Natives at Credit Union Place Wednesday night.

It was a back and forth game until the third period. The Kings and Natives entered the final frame tied at two. However, Neepawa pulled away in the third to pick up the two points.

Goal scorers for the Kings on Wednesday were Matthew Greening (1) and Kyle Oleksiuk (2).

Brandon Holtby (1-3) surrendered the loss between the pipes for Dauphin. Holtby turned aside 28 of 32 shots while the Kings fired 32 on the Neepawa net.

When everything was said and done on the special teams side of things the Kings went 1 for 9 on the man advantage while the Natives finished 0 for 6.

The loss slips Dauphin to 1-4-0 on the young season. They’ll close out their four game home stand on Friday when they welcome the Winkler Flyers to Credit Union Place. Game time is 7:30pm!
