Kings Lose 7-3 To Portage
DAUPHIN, MB - For the second straight game the Dauphin Kings fell behind 3-0 in the opening period and couldn't dig themselves out of the hole, this time in a 7-3 loss to the Portage Terriers at Credit Union Place.
The first period saw four of the first five goals going the way of the Terriers. Havryil Simchuk (8) had Dauphin's lone goal in the first.
In the second period the Terriers scored two of the three. Josh Schmidt (2) had Dauphin's only goal. Portage took a 6-2 advantage to the final frame.
The third period saw each team grab one goal with Portage securing the 7-3 victory. Dauphin's Daniel Helary (7) had the Kings goal.
Justin Perreault took the loss in the Dauphin goal, turning as 29 of 36 shots while the Kings had 27.
Power Plays saw both teams go 2 for 4.
Dauphin goes to 10-6-1-0 on the season. They'll get the next four days off before returning to action on the road on Friday. Friday they'll be in Neepawa to take on the Titans and then on Saturday they'll go further south to Selkirk to battle the Steelers. Both games are 7:30pm starts. The next Kings game at Credit Union Place comes your way on Friday November 21st when Dauphin entertains Steinbach for Ag Night! That game goes at 7:00pm!
