TONIGHT'S MATCHUP
KINGS (0-1-0-0)
The Kings will try for a much more consistent effort tonight when they welcome the Stampeders to town. Last night Dauphin was very good for well over half the game, but shut down in the second half of the contest and it cost them two points.
As mentioned the Kings wont play again after tonight until next Friday. That's when they'll open up a home-and-home set with the Neepawa Titans. Then after that they get a lengthy stretch off from game action.
Special Teams numbers were heavily in favour of the Stampeders on Friday. Swan Valley had five man advantages, scoring on two of them. The Kings had just one chance and it lasted only 16 seconds.
Seven players on the Kings are tied for the lead in team scoring after they all collected a point in the season opening game on Friday night.
STAMPEDERS (1-0-0-0)
The Swan Valley Stampeders will no doubt be happy with starting their season with a win, but the club will likely not be satisfied with their start in Friday's victory. It'll be something they'll want to rectify if they have success on Saturday night cause one would expect the Kings to come out flying in the first 10 minutes.
Tonight marks the start of a four game road swing for the Stampeders but they won't play their next affair until they visit Selkirk on Friday.
As mentioned Swan Valley had two man advantage goals on Friday and didn't have to do much work on the PK, killing off Dauphin's 16 seconds of Power Play time.
Riley Fequet, Ben Groome & Ethan MacTavish all lead the Stampeders with three points coming into this evening. All three have a goal and two assists.
