Kings Host Wolverines In Final Game Before Christmas Break

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings and Waywayseecappo Wolverines meet up for the second time in less than a week tonight.

It's the final game of 2025 for both clubs. They'll both hit the Christmas break after this evening's affair. Dauphin will return to action on Sunday January 4th against Neepawa while the Wolverines' next game won't be until January 6th when they visit Dauphin at Credit Union Place.

It's TEDDY BEAR TOSS NIGHT presented by the Dauphin Clinic Pharmacy! Bring a new stuffed animal or toy and toss it on the ice when the Kings score their first goal of the game! The Dauphin Clinic Pharmacy truck will be on the ice to help clean things up along with the U11 Kings helping too!

Opening face off at Credit Union Place tonight is 7:00pm!

In the first intermission the Home Hardware Football Toss is back with the pot almost at $800.00!

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

KINGS (18-10-1-0)

After an intense schedule for the last few weeks this game tonight will be the only one this week for the Dauphin Kings. Much of the MJHL has struggled to get games done over the last week with the weather in Manitoba settling in for the winter season.

The game tonight marks the start of the second half of the Kings' schedule for the 2025-26 season. The second half will be a tiny bit more road heavy for Dauphin. Starting on January 4th the Kings will play 15 of their remaining 28 games on the road.

Special Teams for the Kings were good in Sunday's win over Waywayseecappo. Right now Dauphin is ranked 2nd in the MJHL on the Power Play at 24.4% while their Penalty Kill improved and is now up to 79%, still 7th overall.

Havryil Simchuk remains the leading scorer of the Kings. He has 17 goals and 16 assists for 33 points.

WOLVERINES (12-17-1-1)

Like the Dauphin Kings the Waywayseecappo Wolverines have struggled to play their games this week as well. The Wolverines were scheduled to play the Winnipeg Monarchs on home ice Friday but that game was postponed due to the weather.

So for Waywayseecappo this is their first game since they were in Dauphin last Sunday where they lost 4-2 to the Kings. It's the Wolverines' final game before the Christmas break as well. They will return on Tuesday January 6th against, you guessed it, the Kings in Dauphin.

Wayway's Special Teams are both in the bottom half of the MJHL. Their Power Play is ranked 7th at 23.1%. It scored against the Kings last Sunday. Penalty Kill wise the Wolverines are 9th at 77.3%.

Sebastien Hicks (17G, 22A) remains the leading scorer of the Wolverines and is inside the MJHL's top 10 with 39 points.
