TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

KINGS (17-9-1-0)

The Kings got out of their three game losing skid on Wednesday with a 5-4 overtime win against the Northern Manitoba Blizzard. The win was the Kings' first in the month of December.

The Kings have just four games left on their schedule before the Christmas break hits next week. They'll take on Virden this evening, then meet Waywayseecappo Sunday (4:00pm) for Tractor Lotto night. After that the Kings go north to play the Blizzard in The Pas. Then the Kings conclude 2025 with a tilt against the Wolverines at Credit Union Place for Teddy Bear Toss Night on December 20th. After that Dauphin is not back in action until January 4th.

Dauphin's Special Teams remain hot and cold. Their Power Play has been solid as of late and is now up to 24.7% which is 3rd in the MJHL. Their Penalty Kill, however, has not been great. It's down to 78.7% and 7th overall.

With 15 goals and 15 assists Havryil Simchuk remains the Kings leading scorer with 30 points coming into tonight.

OIL CAPITALS (15-10-0-0)

The Virden Oil Capitals haven't seen action since Sunday where they were hammered 11-2 by the Niverville Nighthawks, so you know they'll like come out strong tonight as they look to bounce back.

Virden has slipped a little in the standings. They're currently 3rd in the West Division. They're now one point back of the Neepawa Titans, but the good news for Virden is they have three games in hand on Neepawa and two on Dauphin. It's game four of a six game road swing for the Oil Capitals. After a win in Dauphin to kick it off Virden has dropped two straight.

Special Teams for the Oil Capitals are much like the Kings, hot and cold. Their Penalty Kill, like Dauphin's, has not been very good. It's 72.1% and 11th in the MJHL. Power Play wise the Oil Capitals are 23.2% and 7th overall.

Bryce Bryant (14G, 23A) is the leading scorer of the Oil Capitals coming into this evening. He has 37 points.
