TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

KINGS (16-8-1-0)

After a couple days of practice the Dauphin Kings return to their home ice tonight looking to return to their winning ways at Credit Union Place. Before the last two games Dauphin was a solid 7-1-1-0 at home, now they're 7-3-1-0.

The Kings will also try to separate themselves from the second place Virden Oil Capitals. Virden is three points back coming into this evening and are in Portage to play the Terriers, but the Oil Capitals will still have two games in hand after the game this evening.

Special Teams will need to improve if the Kings are to start winning again. Their Power Play has been pretty quiet, although it has not had many chances in the last couple games. Coming into this evening Dauphin's PP is ranked 6th at 23.4% while their Penalty Kill is 6th as well at 80.7%.

Havryil Simchuk (14G, 14A) remains atop the Kings in points with 28.

BLUES (8-12-2-0)

The time is now for the Winnipeg Blues. If they want to make it to the MJHL Playoffs they are going to need to start winning games or they will have a situation on their hands like their cross city cousins, the Winnipeg Monarchs, who are basically already out of playoff contention. The Blues were in The Pas last night and fell 5-4 to the Blizzard.

Coming into this evening the Blues sit 6th in the East Division and are 13 points out of a playoff spot. They've played 22 games. With 37 remaining contests they'll likely need to go win 20-25 games to make a push for a playoff spot.

Special Teams are both in the bottom half of the MJHL for the Blues. Their Penalty Kill is 8th at 78.9% while their Power Play is ranked 11th at 16%.

The leading scorer of the Blues is Matthew O'Sullivan (15G, 8A) with 23 points.
