DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings conclude their 2024-25 regular season schedule tonight when they welcome the Waywayseecappo Wolverines to Credit Union Place.
The game is both meaningless and meaningful to the Kings. It's meaningless in the fact that they cannot go anywhere in the standings regardless if they win or lose. It's meaningful because of their opponent who are fighting for their playoff lives and will be scoreboard watching the game in Neepawa between the Titans and Oil Capitals.
By the end of the night the Kings will know who they'll play in the opening round of the MJHL Playoff which kick off next weekend.
Don't forget there's lots going on at tonight's game. It's Rain Check Night meaning any unused season tickets can be used to get into the game. It's also Awards Night and the Kings will hand out all their 2024-25 awards before, during and after the game! Plus the M&M Food Market Express Puck Toss returns in the first intermission!

DAUPHIN KINGS AWARDS FINALISTS

TONIGHT'S MATCH UP
KINGS (37-17-2-1) - 1st in West
Almost six months ago the Dauphin Kings kicked off the 2024-25 regular season. The year featured many ups and downs for the hockey club and loads of adversity, especially in the latter half of the campaign, but the Kings pulled through and will finish atop the West Division.
The only thing left for the Kings is to find out who their opponent will be in the first round of the playoffs. We will know the answer by 10:00pm tonight.
In last night's loss to Neepawa one of the bright spots was Dauphin's Special Teams. The club's Penalty Kill finished the night 5 for 5 and is now at 82.4% which is 5th overall. The Kings Power Play also scored once and is now at 23.7%, also 5th.
The regular season points race for the Dauphin Kings is still up for grabs. Right now Cayden Glover leads at 52 but Gavin Nemis (50) and Naaman Hofer (50) are just two points back.

WOLVERINES (24-30-2-1) - 4th in West
The Wolverines, like the Dauphin Kings recently, hold their fate in their own hands coming into this evening. It's simple for Waywayseecappo, win and you're in. A loss for the Wolverines doesn't mean they'll fall short of the playoffs, but it would mean they'd need some help from the Neepawa Titans as they host the Virden Oil Capitals tonight.
There's no doubt a lot of people will be scoreboard watching tonight. Wayway is coming off a 3-1 win last night against the Winnipeg Blues.
The Wolverines' Special Teams are very good when they're the home team. When they're the road team it's a little different. Overall Wayway's Power Play is 9th at 19.4%. On the road their Power Play is 15.2%. For the Penalty Kill Wayway is 6th at 81.4%. On the road their PK is clicking at 79.8%.
Jaxon Grosdidier (24G, 26A) leads the Wolverines in scoring coming into this evening. He's at 50 points.
